That\u2019s when the <strong data-start=\"376\" data-end=\"410\">Atalaya Arts &amp; Crafts Festival<\/strong> returns to the iconic <strong data-start=\"433\" data-end=\"451\">Atalaya Castle<\/strong> at Huntington Beach State Park in Murrells Inlet. And this year is extra special\u2014it\u2019s the festival\u2019s <strong data-start=\"553\" data-end=\"573\">50th anniversary<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"578\" data-end=\"957\">Atalaya Castle is a treasure in itself. Built in the 1930s by Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington, the castle\u2019s Spanish-Moorish design makes it one of the most unique landmarks on the Hammock Coast. Wandering through its courtyards and stone hallways while browsing art displays feels like stepping back in time. It\u2019s the kind of setting that makes this festival unlike any other.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"959\" data-end=\"1312\">More than <strong data-start=\"969\" data-end=\"998\">100 artists and craftsmen<\/strong> will be showcasing their work this year. From stunning paintings and sculptures to hand-crafted jewelry, pottery, and textiles, there\u2019s truly something for everyone. Even if you don\u2019t consider yourself an \u201cart person,\u201d you\u2019ll find it fun just to wander, discover, and maybe take home a piece that speaks to you.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1314\" data-end=\"1668\">The festival runs <strong data-start=\"1332\" data-end=\"1362\">Friday from noon to 5 p.m.<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1368\" data-end=\"1414\">Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.<\/strong> Admission is just <strong data-start=\"1433\" data-end=\"1451\">$10 for adults<\/strong>, and kids 15 and under get in free\u2014so it\u2019s a great outing for families. Just a quick note: pets aren\u2019t allowed inside the castle, and strollers or wheelchairs might find some of the old stone paths a little tricky.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1670\" data-end=\"2027\">And let\u2019s not forget the atmosphere. Live music fills the castle courtyard throughout the weekend, adding to the festive vibe. When you get hungry, local food vendors are on hand with everything from classic burgers and hot dogs to fried fish, jerk chicken, kettle corn, lemonade, and even fresh doughnuts. It\u2019s as much a foodie stop as it is an art show!<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2029\" data-end=\"2228\">Beyond the festival, Huntington Beach State Park itself is worth the trip. Between the beaches, salt marshes, and nature trails, you can easily make a whole day\u2014or even a weekend\u2014out of your visit.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2230\" data-end=\"2483\">So grab your friends or family, head to Murrells Inlet, and experience one of South Carolina\u2019s most beloved traditions.
