2026 SOS Fall Migration in North Myrtle Beach!

Aug 10, 2026 | Current News

Fall is one of the best times to visit the Grand Strand, and nothing captures the spirit of the season quite like the 2026 SOS Fall Migration. From September 18-27, 2026, thousands of shag dancers and beach music fans will gather along Ocean Drive in North Myrtle Beach for one of South Carolina’s most iconic annual traditions.

Whether you’re an experienced dancer or simply enjoy great live music, the SOS Fall Migration offers something for everyone. During this 10-day celebration, Main Street comes alive with live bands, dance lessons, tea parties, DJ events, and nightly entertainment at legendary venues including Fat Harold’s Beach Club, Ducks, Spanish Galleon, and the OD Arcade. The Carolina Shag—South Carolina’s official state dance—takes center stage as visitors from across the country celebrate this uniquely Southern tradition.

One of the best parts of staying at Ocean Sands Beach Resort is our convenient location. We’re just a short drive from Ocean Drive, making it easy to spend the day relaxing on the beach before heading out for an evening of dancing and live entertainment.

Even if you’ve never shagged before, don’t worry! Many clubs offer beginner lessons, and the friendly atmosphere makes it easy to join the fun. It’s the perfect opportunity to experience authentic Carolina culture while making unforgettable vacation memories.
