Looking for something a little different during your fall getaway to North Myrtle Beach? Take a short drive inland to Conway, where Halloween takes over the historic downtown for an entire month!
For October 2026, Conway once again becomes “Halloween, S.C.”, with more than 200 events, spooky displays and activities throughout the historic downtown and riverfront. Just under 15 miles from Myrtle Beach, it’s an easy—and fun—day trip from Ocean Sands Beach Resort.
The fun begins October 1 with The Big BOO-ginning, a costume parade through downtown followed by live music and a costume contest at the Town Green. Throughout the month, you’ll find elaborate Halloween displays including the Shiverwalk, Tunnel of Bones, Great Pumpkin Oak, Ghoulnies Harbor and Skeleton Orphanage. They’re perfect for a leisurely afternoon of exploring and taking some seriously spooky photos.
There are plenty of scheduled events, too. The Conway Ghost Walk takes place October 14-16, while the Graveyard Grand Prix Coffin Races return October 17. Free Friday night movies, the Midnight Market, live entertainment and haunted attractions give visitors plenty of reasons to come back more than once.
And if you’re looking for a serious scare, Fear Factory offers three haunted attractions downtown throughout October. Prefer something a little less frightening? Stroll along the Riverwalk, grab dinner at one of Conway’s local restaurants and enjoy the Halloween decorations after dark.
For the complete 2026 schedule, visit Conway Downtown Alive or call (843) 248-6260.
After a day of Halloween fun, head back to Ocean Sands Beach Resort, kick off your shoes and relax by the ocean. Fall is a great time to experience the Grand Strand—and Conway’s Halloween celebration makes it even better!
