Duplin Winery

Since its opening in 2015, Duplin Winery has been bringing new and exciting wines alongside old classics to the Grand Strand. Originally based in North Carolina, Duplin Winery is the largest and oldest winery in the state and has been producing award winning wines ever since. Luckily for us, they saw the gap in the wine market in the Grand Strand and came to the rescue. Looking for a chance to unwind? Look no further. Duplin has the perfect atmosphere to relax and enjoy a glass with friends and family alike. Both educational and delicious, the wine tastings here are some of the best in the area. With a focus on a laid-back, anything but the stereotypical stuffiness atmosphere that comes with wine tastings, Duplin Winery is a winery for all people. With tours, taste testing’s, boutiques, live music, and Barefoot Landing right beside it, Duplin Winery has everything to offer to wine lovers. With a motto like “Cool, Sweet, and Easy”, you know this experience will be one that’s hard to beat.

Carolina Vineyards Winery

Want to try some classic flavors of the South? You’ve come to the right place. Carolina Vineyards specializes in producing traditional South Carolina style wine from local South Carolina fruits. Since relocating from Chester, SC in 2005, Carolina wineries has been providing that sweet taste of the south to visitors for over 23 years. This working winery, like Duplin Winery, offers any service a wine lover could want – from wine tastings, tours of the facility, and delicious goodies to take home. Their wine menu houses over 60 different wines, each with varying levels of dryness or sweetness depending on what you’re in the mood for. Located conveniently in Barefoot Landing between Quiet Storm and The Fudgery, no longer do you have to take long drives out to the countryside to experience a real working winery.

La Belle Amie

Unfortunately, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, local favorite La Belle Amie has had to close their doors for the time being. That being said, I just had to include them as an honorable mention in this list and keep crossing my fingers until they’re able to open their doors once more. Owned and operated by beloved local Vicki Weigle and first built in 1999, this winery was a passion passed through her family line. Nestled in the small town of Little River, La Belle Amie has been providing experiences unlike any other to those walking through its doors. Delicious wines for every taste await guests, as well as a variety of specialty sauces and dressings. But what really sets La Belle Amie apart is their use of their sprawling lawn where they have live events and music that has become insanely popular with both locals and tourists. They even have a Festival Club membership available so that wine lovers can come to experience the fun and entertainment at any chance they get. Again, La Belle Amie has its door currently closed due to COVID-19, but we’re all waiting with bated breath for its grand reopening.

Silver Coast Winery

Tucked between the beautiful pines of North Carolina in Ocean Isle Beach is the incredible Silver Coast Winery. The culmination of a dream between two wine lovers, Maryann Azzato started the process of creating their award-winning vineyard back in 2002 after her husband gifted her with a half-acre lot for Mother’s Day. Nearly 20 years later and Silver Coast Winery has become one of the most beloved stops for visitors in the area. With an expansive wine list composed of any type of wine you could dream of, these delicious drinks are all aged in traditional oak barrels or stainless tanks depending on the variety. Sure to tickle the tastebuds of all wine lovers, Silver Coast Winery offers tastings, tours, and delicious cheese plates and other food that pair wonderfully with any drink of your choosing. Silver Coast Winery is also currently in the process of bottling their new Cabernet Sauvignon that will be available and ready for corks to pop either late spring or early summer of this year. With a delightful fruit-forward flavor, this Cab will undoubtedly become a new local favorite!
